overworking & breaking it with norah

This blog has been silent for 2 weeks already. It isn't that I have nothing to say but there really just isn't much time to sit down and blog. I was tasked to finish a construction set last week for a "structure". I have been working on it ALONE for the past couple of months. I wasn't allowed to work beyond 8 hours then. But two weeks ago, things started to pile up and time was like platinum. People started to realize that we shouldn't dwell too much time for this freakin' "structure". Well, who doesn't? It is actually me at the end of the chain doing most of the work. I just want to move on to other projects and live happily ever after. OK, not that happy. Anyways it was only a week ago that I was allowed to work beyond that 8 hour mark.

Ok, this will be sort of a ranting blog entry but what the heck. I am just exercising my right, right?

So there I was burning the night oil away. I was in front of the PC for about two thirds of my conscious moments switching between screen and paper, colorful lines and red marks. For 1 whole week I'm having my endurance training sitting down! Yes this is the first part of my training for the marathon this coming May. Heck, I do not know if with this kind of schedule I would be training enough to finish even for the 10k mark. At least I get to read all those necessary information on how to prepare for the full marathon. Hehehe...

Damn! I already feel so weak. That's why I took the morning off. Better make use of those sick leaves when you really have to than to be a martyr to work. And yesternight, I was very much afraid that I'm actually getting used to this pace.

This isn't all bad though. I got to talk with some of my officemates in a more personal level (sort of bonding), I was able to have a chat people whom I haven't touched base with for a long time, I also get to earn that extra change, but then here comes the worst excuse - I can charge it all to experience! HA!

What was good after all this light ranting is the fact that in the middle of that week? Ms Norah came to town. I saw her literally jazzing up the night with a good friend (who I haven't got in touch with for the longest time) and her sister. It was an exhilarating experience. Even when our pockets only got us an almost back seat during the spectacle, Ms Jones is an artist to see. The handsome band is also something else. They play jazz/country as if it is like breathing to them. And the tunes that they produce... man! They JAZZ!

Funny how I got into jazz now when during
highschool, the only thing that interests me was rock and everything else was like trash! Yeah, PUNX not dead! Hahaha... Somehow I formulated my theory on how I got into jazz but that's another story. Better yet, ask Yas so she can put into words better than I do what we have exchanged during that pre-concert catching up moment. Paging Jas.... Maybe it could be a script for a screenplay...

yes... the Sampaguita and the Gumamela...

Oh man, that 'sampaguita and gumamela' bit is a CLASSIC! Grabe! I have yet to use it with my friend. Either bi-bilib siya sa philosophy na 'yun (which you instantaneously formulated), or she's going to give me a quizzical look and say, "Next topic, pls."
