unfortunately, some of my investments have to be postponed. especially the idea of going back to biking, which is quite fine since it is really hot. but my legs are really aching for some pumping pistol action.

next month maybe my dear.

it really sucks! i cant get over the fact that almost everybody here in Dubai doesn't care about their environment. people leave their rubbish anywhere they want. how stupid of these people.

be it locals, indians, pakistanis, even fellow kababayans. sheesh...

i hope the government do sanction the culprits as much as they do for the other filthy crimes, maybe a fine of AED 100 would be enough. pieces of paper, cigarette butts, what not.

arggh... the parks and the streets are just plain - filthy. and the spitting... i'll not even get into this.

if this goes on, the superlative "dirtiest" would also be attached to Dubai's name.

pre-dubai

While walking last night, I was telling a friend how everything that's taking place in my life seems like a dream. Dreams start from somewhere and it is always good to dream, yet remaining in touch with reality.

Early this year, I dreamt of accomplishing things without any time frame in mind. There was the meeting in Loppiano, Italy for architects in the Focolare, then there's an immense desire to be with Lilly again (which at that point in time had to be in Austria), and a practical life decision that in order to go to these areas, I had to have money to pay for the trip.

Money?! Yes, everyone needs money, but not as an end. I don't care how much money I have in my pocket as long as I live a full life and it doesn't have to be materialistic and consumeristic.

Anyway, April arrived and the news came that there's a job available in Dubai. So I rushed to prepare all the documents. For those who know, the authentication process is really an experience. So I went through it fair and square just to learn at the end that there is a more convenient way to do it. Schade!

I've previously set my departure on the 1st of June which instead was moved to the 7th by some saving grace. It was providential since I still haven't my documents for Europe and Dubai. Talk about doing things on the last minute. I did everything humaly possible but I really had to wait. There are things that I cannot control. In the end, the invitations, the visas and the money arrived.

But before any of these happened, there are already the parties happening here and there. Two of the most important ones are with the gen and with the boks.

Crap. This post is done in 3 sessions. Now I just don't have the drive to write it when I stared to do it. Tata for now...

for the past 3 months

CORNERSTONE
I finally finished my only project in my home city. Check it out, it is at the corner of the main artery of Tagaytay and Ligaya Drive (the road going to Talisay). Hopefully, there are no major problems due to the architectural "re"-design. It is a renovated building of 10 years.

MARIAPOLIS
Well I did nothing special for this year's Mariapolis (for the unversed, this is a summer retreat of the Focolare Movement) except to video the whole 3-day event.

GENSCHOOL & YOUTHCAMP
Standard stuff too. Backdrops, layout, translations here and there. But these events replenished my soul to the max (as part of the doggie bag for my current adventures)

PRE-DUBAI
Yes, my last month in motherland has really been hectic. Document authentication, travel plans, travel documents, insurances, baggage packing, despedidas, etc. What was supposed to be a Manila-Dubai trip mutated to a bigger scale trip which almost blew my mind off. This is a blog entry in itself. Wait for future posts.

well, that sums up everything. almost. and im still optimistic. tonight is the championship match for the world cup. VIVE L'ITALIA or VIVE LE FRANCE?

my spring/summer hibernation will soon be over. all the transfers, trips, and movements have been done and somehow the dust particles and the floating stuff have almost settled.
